What is NLP?
*The name Neuro-Linguistic Programming was invented in the early 70′s as an attempt to describe in a succinct manner the scope of this extensive body of insights and skills:
- Neuro refers to how the mind and body interact
- Linguistic refers to the insights into a person’s thinking that can be obtained by careful attention to their use of language
- Programming refers, not to the activity of programming, but to the study of the thinking and behavioural patterns or ‘programmes’ which people use in their daily lives.
In practice NLP is like a user’s manual for the brain.
It is the study of excellent communication – both with yourself, and with others. It was developed by modelling excellent communicators and therapists who got results with their clients. NLP is sometimes seen as a set of tools and techniques, but it is so much more than that. It is an attitude and a methodology of knowing how to achieve your goals and get results.
And of course as such………..it has applications both in work and personal life !
